Job summary

CEBU GENERAL SERVICES INC. seeks an experienced boat operator/captain to safely navigate vessels and transport passengers, crew, equipment, or cargo to designated locations. You will perform pre-departure inspections and monitor weather, tides, and safety procedures.

The role requires strong knowledge of navigation and maritime safety, hands-on engine troubleshooting, and the ability to stay calm under pressure in varying weather conditions. A valid captain license is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid boat operator/captain license or certification required by the applicable maritime authority.
• Previous experience operating boats or similar marine vessels.
• Good knowledge of navigation, maritime safety, and emergency procedures.
• Basic knowledge of boat engines and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Physically fit and able to work around water and in varying weather conditions.
• Good communication and passenger-service skills.
• Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to remain calm during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate and navigate the boat safely in accordance with maritime rules and company procedures.
• Transport passengers, crew, equipment, or cargo to and from designated locations.
• Conduct pre-departure inspections of the boat, engine, fuel, navigation equipment, and safety equipment.
• Monitor weather, sea conditions, tides, and potential hazards before and during trips.
• Ensure passengers follow safety procedures and wear appropriate life jackets when required.
• Handle docking, anchoring, mooring, and departure procedures safely.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, maintenance, and incidents.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of the boat and engine.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, including engine failure, accidents, or passenger emergencies.
• Keep the vessel clean, organized, and in good operating condition.
• Report mechanical problems, safety concerns, accidents, or other incidents to management.
• Comply with applicable maritime laws, licensing requirements, and company policies.
