Job summary

Reframe Systems is seeking a Design Automation Engineer to advance architectural design and BIM tooling. You will translate repetitive design and estimating tasks into production-grade software that accelerates workflows from Revit to cad-to-fab systems.

This hands-on role sits between design practice and software engineering, using coding agents and AI tooling to prototype fast and ship usable tools. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable automation, maintain integration

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering or equivalent experience.
3+ years experience in design/CAD/BIM automation in residential construction.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build consensus around a technical vision.
Strong coding experience in Python and/or TypeScript; experience with automated testing and releases.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain production tools for the design team that are stable and save real time.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement software automation.
Build the exchange layer between internal models and external MEP consultants.
Build auto-takeoff from BIM to produce high-confidence estimates.
Create tooling to help architects iterate value-engineering options quickly.
Collaborate with software engineers to build and support reliable tools.
