Job summary

Welcome Bank (Rural Bank), Inc. in Ortigas, Pasig City seeks an experienced Internal Auditor to join our full-time team. You will conduct independent evaluations of banking operations and compliance frameworks to safeguard assets and support management decisions.

Responsibilities include planning and documenting audits, assessing controls and risk, following up on corrective actions, and collaborating with external auditors and regulators to ensure robust governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in internal audit, external audit or risk management, preferably in banking/financial services.
• Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks for rural banks.
• Solid understanding of internal control principles, risk assessment methodologies and audit procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify control gaps and propose solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to present findings to management.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and integrity in audit work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and document internal audit activities across banking functions, including operations and compliance areas.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and governance frameworks.
• Perform compliance audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, AML policies and applicable legislation.
• Assess operational efficiency and recommend process improvements to reduce risks.
• Prepare detailed audit reports documenting findings, conclusions and recommendations for management.
• Follow up on management's implementation of audit recommendations and monitor corrective actions.
• Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
• Maintain comprehensive audit documentation and working papers per auditing standards.
