Job summary

ECOG Core Technologies in India is seeking a motivated Website Backend Intern to join our IT Services team. This internship offers hands-on experience building and securing server-side logic, databases, and RESTful APIs under supervision.

You will work with PHP, Python, Java, or Node.js, gain exposure to MySQL/PostgreSQL, and learn about web security, testing, deployment, and performance optimization in an agile setting.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate or current student in CS/IT/SE or related field.
• Proficiency in at least one server-side language: PHP, Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of REST API principles and implementation.
• Foundational web security knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a collaborative, agile environment.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced internship setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic using server-side languages such as PHP, Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Support the creation and management of relational databases using MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of RESTful APIs for frontend-backend communication.
• Implement and enforce web security best practices, including input validation and authentication mechanisms.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and ensure performance.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues in development and staging environments.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following coding standards.
• Assist in testing, deploying, and monitoring backend services in production environments.
• Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in backend development and share knowledge with the team.
