Job summary

Cloud Raptor is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to lead the design and optimization of scalable data solutions using Azure Databricks for enterprise-grade analytics. You will drive architecture decisions, collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders, and ensure secure, compliant data workflows.

The role emphasizes hands-on implementation, CI/CD for notebooks, and cost-aware optimization across Azure services while mentoring junior team members and staying ahead of cloud-data trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3 years focused on Azure Databricks.
• Expert-level proficiency in Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Databricks SQL.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure DevOps.
• Proven track record in designing and deploying large-scale data platforms in Azure.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.
• Experience with Python, Scala, and SQL in a big data context.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end data solutions using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and other Azure data services.
• Lead deployment and operationalization of Databricks environments with scalability, performance, and security in mind.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define data models, pipelines, and governance.
• Develop and enforce best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and storage using Spark and Databricks notebooks.
• Optimize data workflows for cost-efficiency and performance across Azure services.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for Databricks notebooks and jobs using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers and architects.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in cloud data architecture and analytics.
