Job summary

QBOYD SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS is seeking an experienced AWS Application Migration & Modernisation Specialist to lead enterprise migration and cloud transformation initiatives. You will assess legacy apps, define migration strategies, and execute end-to-end migrations to AWS, while modernizing architectures into microservices and cloud-native designs.

The role requires hands-on AWS expertise, Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD, and IaC practices, with a track record of successful migrations and governance

Qualifications

• 7–12+ years in IT/application engineering.
• 3–5 years hands-on AWS experience.
• Proven enterprise migration and modernization experience on AWS.
• Hands-on production migration experience from on-premises to AWS.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, microservices, APIs, and cloud-native solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD, Git, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Linux/Windows environments, IAM, encryption, networking, and cloud governance.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end production migrations from on-premises environments to AWS.
• Modernize legacy and monolithic applications into microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Design and implement containerized solutions using Docker, Amazon ECS, and Amazon EKS.
• Work with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, S3, VPC, CloudWatch, IAM, and AWS Migration Services.
• Support database migration using AWS DMS and enterprise databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DB2.
• Implement CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, DevOps, and security practices.
• Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, database, and migration issues.

About you

• 7–12+ years of overall IT/application engineering experience


• Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on AWS experience


• Proven enterprise application migration and modernization experience on AWS


• Hands‑on production migration experience from on‑premises to AWS


• Strong understanding of application architecture, microservices, APIs, and cloud‑native solutions


• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD, Git, and Infrastructure as Code


• Strong understanding of Linux/Windows environments, IAM, encryption, networking, and cloud governance

Preferred

• Java, .NET/.NET Core, Python, Node.js, Spring Boot, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, REST APIs, Kafka, Amazon MSK, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, ELK, and Grafana


• AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or AWS Developer
