Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant diploma in engineering or drafting.
• AutoCAD Certified Professional or Certified User credential.
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency including layers, blocks, external references (Xrefs), sheet sets, GD&T, and 3D modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing limits, and fabrication workflows.
• Geometric reasoning and spatial analysis for accurate dimensions and clearances.

Responsibilities

• Creating detailed 2D layouts, structural blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematics with precise dimensions, materials, tolerances, and structural notes

About the role

An AutoCAD Engineer prepares detailed technical drawings, develops 3D digital models, and ensures all documentation complies with company guidelines and industry regulations. The role revolves around accuracy, technical design, and cross-department collaboration to support manufacturing and production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Creating detailed 2D layouts, structural blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematics with precise dimensions, materials, tolerances, and structural notes
• Developing 3D digital models of components, products, or buildings to analyze spatial constraints, check for part interference, and provide visual representations before physical production
• Modifying existing drawings based on engineering changes, client feedback, or production floor constraints to ensure all documentation remains up to date
• Ensuring all blueprints comply with company guidelines, industry regulations such as ASME, ISO, or local building codes, and standardized layering, scaling, and drafting conventions
• Working closely with manufacturing teams, production supervisors, or field engineers to explain design intents, troubleshoot dimensional errors, and optimize designs for easier fabrication

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Industrial) OR a technical diploma/associate degree in Drafting and Design Technology
• AutoCAD Certified Professional or Certified User credential
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency including mastery of layers, blocks, external references (Xrefs), sheet sets, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and 3D modeling tools
• Solid grasp of material properties, manufacturing limits, and fabrication workflows
• Strong skills in geometry, trigonometry, and spatial reasoning to calculate angles, weights, volumes, and clearances accurately
