Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to challenge issues and propose root causes.

Audit Services provides independent assurance on how Northern Trust manages risk, strengthens controls, and supports responsible growth. This role will help design and lead audit validation activities as part of the Risk and Control Enhancement transformation program. The successful candidate will work with audit teams, business leaders, and senior stakeholders to interpret risk themes, challenge control design, and assess effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop testing approach and ensure the scope of the audit validation activities is comprehensive and adequate.
• Lead walkthroughs and planning meetings.
• Provide training, coaching, and auditing expertise to the audit team.

Skills / Qualifications

• Knowledge of audit procedures and standards usually obtained through related work experience and a four‑year degree program is required.
• Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures that relate to auditing/accounting standards and strong analytical skills to prepare audits.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on several audit validations at a time and ensure work is delivered timely and within budget.
• Lead discussions with stakeholders on testing findings.
• Challenge issues, propose root causes, draft issues and reports (including executive summary).
