Job summary

WSP in Manila seeks a senior engineering leader to oversee the design, development, and production of building services systems and ensure quality delivery from concept to completion. You will coordinate BIM resources, drive strategic improvements, and mentor teams across the region.

The role requires deep experience with local and international standards (Australian Code), leadership of large teams, and strong client-facing capabilities across regional offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering/science or equivalent.
• Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Professional chartership/registration within jurisdiction.
• Typically 15+ years of experience in engineering projects.
• Extensive experience applying local and international standards, especially Australian Code.
• Proven leadership of large teams delivering sustainable outcomes.
• Ability to prepare and review complex technical information.
• Experience with BIM and digital engineering coordination.
• Knowledge of risk management and safety in design.

Leading the design, development, and production of building services systems. Oversee the design and drawing of building services systems.

Lead quality assurance and quality control on technical delivery of projects

Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with regional and national regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate engineering and BIM resources across projects
• Contribute to project and design management within the team’s scope
• Lead and manage quality checking of designs, drawings and deliverables
• Step into technical delivery as needed to support resourcing requirements
• Provide input to man‑hour estimates, cost tracking, and proposal development
• Maintain a strong client‑centric mindset in working with our Australian counterparts
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders across Australia offices and the wider global business(as required)
• Support expectation management and issue resolution as required
• Monitor project utilisation against team targets
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to the development of the office against defined strategic goals
• Contribute to growth and performance appraisal of people within the region
• Assist and contribute in the developing 3 year strategic plans for the region to include market and people development
• Assist in analysing the financial and non-financial performance of the region

• Leads complex function analysis for major projects and conducts quantitative assessment of multiple alternatives using value engineering matrices. Is able to bring stakeholders on the journey to develop best for project outcomes.
• Shares knowledge of the application of modelling software and/or analytical techniques across projects. Assists in driving and implementing software and techniques.
• Skilled and knowledgeable in the use of Digital Technologies including MS365 and AI tools to deliver projects in accordance with WSP Policy. Drives innovative use of new technologies to improve project efficiencies
• Is aware of key relevant Digital Tools and Software and its applicability on projects. Highly developed skills in analysis and interpretation of output as applies to complex projects.
• Advanced knowledge in Digital Engineering/BIM based inter-disciplinary coordination constructability and/or
• project controls.
• Competent in identifying, communicating and managing risks on substantial projects. Takes a proactive approach to engage key WSP stakeholders.
• Highly skilled in applying safety in design practices and processes in projects. Keeps abreast of emerging trends and educates others.
