About the role
Working in true collaboration with our client Unilever, at U‑Studio we aim to be the leading agency partner for the development of stunning and effective needs‑based content and digital media campaigns. The position requires 7+ years of experience managing social networks for a top FMCG client and a strong background in digital and social agencies. The successful candidate will excel in producing engaging and creative social media and digital work across planning, strategy and media. An editorial background and Photoshop skills are considered an advantage.
What you will be doing
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director to co‑lead the team, elevating the quality of creative concepts and ensuring exceptional execution and craft.
- Actively mentor and develop the skills of Art Directors, fostering a high‑performing and collaborative creative environment.
- Lead projects across multiple platforms and channels, from brief to completion, adapting creative concepts within the client’s brand guidelines.
- Ensure experience with Beauty, Food, and Personal Care brands.
- Produce digital concepts, designs and assets to the client’s brief and exacting standards while influencing clients with creative input and pitching new concepts.
- Create beautiful and innovative work across digital platforms based on client brief.
- Responsibly manage the full creative lifecycle from concept to execution.
- Work closely with the team to create strong concepts from the initial briefing.
- Lead in pitching creative solutions in response to client marketing strategies.
- Prepare finished artwork files that comply with the correct output specifications.
- Ensure all design work adheres to the latest digital and social trends and requirements.
What you need to be great in this role
- Strong art direction and concepting skills, especially on digital channels.
- Strong typographic skills.
- Highly creative integrated designer able to influence client briefs with innovative ideas.
- Confident in bringing personal ideas while working within diverse design guidelines.
- Understanding of design principles and awareness of UX, UI and responsive design trends.
- Effectively organise and prioritise workloads to manage client delivery while influencing clients.
- High proficiency in Adobe CC suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, After Effects) and associated prototyping tools.
- Ability to own projects from concept through to completion.
- Deliver design projects within agreed deadlines.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Experience managing designs for brands across social media, performance marketing, digital branding, e‑commerce.
- Preferably from a digital‑first or editorial/agency background.
- Good communication skills and ability to handle pressure.
- Confidence and adaptability in a fast‑paced, changing client environment.
- A passionate and inspiring creative.
- Ability to learn new software and programmes efficiently.
- Self‑motivated with little supervision.
- Collaborative team player, open‑minded and non‑political.
- Discrete about confidential information.
- Passion for and curiosity about AI and new technologies.
- Understanding and knowledge of AI tools is beneficial, but the ability to learn and integrate AI tools is critical.
