Job summary

EY in the ASEAN region seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to join the GDS Enablement Services Finance team. You will advise BU Finance leadership, gather data, prepare reports and support monthly/forecast processes.

You should have a Finance degree, 5+ years FP&A experience, and hands-on Python, Power BI, Tableau; SAP/PeopleSoft knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting or equivalent.
• Membership of CPA / ACCA / CIMA desirable.
• Hands-on data analytics with Python, Power BI, Tableau.
• Knowledge of ERP tools such as SAP or PeopleSoft.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports with revenue and cost analysis.
• Monitor financial results against objectives and historical performance.
• Synthesize financial information for leaders and identify risks.
• Coordinate budget and forecast exercises with data modeling and reporting.
• Support inventory, billing, WIP and debtor aging analyses.
• Assist in month-end close, including journals and reconciliations.
• Execute ad-hoc analyses and data mining as needed by leaders.

This is a great opportunity to be a part of the GDS Enablement Services (ES) Finance organization. ES Finance delivers high value finance advisory roles spanning the Financial, Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function and Controlling functions. The FP&A includes the Business Analysis & Investments (BA&I) and the Account Support sub functions. You will be a part of the Finance function for the ASEAN Business Unit (BU), and this will be part of the BA&I domain.
The opportunity
As the ASEAN BU BA&I Senior Financial Analyst, you will be part of a high performing team that acts as trusted business advisors supporting the BU Finance leadership on varied analytical matters related to the operational results. This role actively participates in the data gathering, report compilations and aiding in analytical reviews on monthly and periodic financial numbers. Involvement in ad-hoc projects and business initiatives will be a part of the role too.

Your key responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports and provide revenue and cost analysis.
• Assist in monitoring and tracking the financial results against operational and strategic objectives as well as historical performance
• Involve in preparing, synthesizing and communicating detailed financial information to business leaders; assist in identifying any potential risks which might impact service line performance and coordinate with the Team in providing strategic input to support effective decision making
• Perform and coordinate various budget and forecast exercises, support the translation of business projections into meaningful figures, including data processing, modeling and reporting
• Support the team lead with the day-to-day management of the inventory, including billing and collection management, WIP and debtor aging analysis, and alert respective leaders for any potential credit risks
• Assist in month-end close process including review and approval of journals and reconciliations
• Any other bookkeeping and reporting matters
• Execute ad-hoc analysis and data mining projects as needed by leaders
• Provide technical support, knowledge and counsel to others within the finance discipline

Skills and attributes for success

We are interested in people with a very positive attitude and a penchant for constant learning. As a successful candidate you will have relevant functional experience managing activities in the PBFA domain and hands-on experience on technical tools like MS Office as well as ERP applications like Peoplesoft, SAP etc.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accounting or equivalent.
• Membership of accredited professional accounting bodies (CPA / ACCA / CIMA etc.) is desirable.
• Hands-on experience in data analytics tools such as Python, Power BI, Tableau is required
• Knowledge of AI tools such as co-pilot is an advantage
• At least 5 years’ experience in finance-related roles (mainly Financial Planning & Analysis)
