Job Description

Responsible for the protection and enhancement of flock health, through well-coordinated and executed farm biosecurity program, with special emphasis on strategic medication and vaccination interventions, flock immunity monitoring, farm sanitation and hygiene, good flock performance recording/reporting system.

  • Leads in the formulation and periodic evaluation of individual farm biosecurity programs.
  • Coordinates the implementation of farm programs as assigned to their responsibility and monitors results and expectations.
  • Coordinates with parent stock suppliers regarding the necessary technical adjustments for breed improvement.
  • Performs epidemiological monitoring of disease incidence in the field for better control and prevention programs.
  • Supervises and performs direct veterinary procedures such as diagnosis, confirmation of cause/s of mortalities and morbidities, water medication, parenteral injection, vaccination, delousing, collection of laboratory samples, and interpretation of laboratory examinations.
  • Ensures mortality, morbidity, coordination, and poor health problems are attended immediately and resolve efficiently with minimal cost.
  • Ensures flock health management and disease control practices are in accordance with the veterinary profession’s safe practices and guidelines.
  • Conducts periodic roving inspection of flocks, farm buildings, equipment, facilities, utilities, and waste disposal systems before recording observations and recommending corrective measures.
  • Attends and participates in periodic meetings of the farm's service team, educational seminars, and conferences.
  • Confers with farm owners/farm in-charge and all stakeholders and solicit their utmost cooperation and assistance in the implementation of flock health activities.
  • Renders assistance in technical evaluation of farms by duly authorized parties/teams.
  • Helps in resulting prospective farms related to farm expansion.
  • Prepares and submits required reports on time.
  • Forecasts requirements and prepares vaccination and medication programs.
  • Responsible for the compliance of all government requirements regarding veterinary aspects.
  • Visits dressing plant for the checking of carcass quality.
  • Maybe assigned any other job as prescribed by the immediate superior.
