Job summary

Northern Trust in Manila is seeking a Financial Analyst to support reporting and analysis across the business unit. The role involves forecasting, budgeting, invoicing, and month-end close tasks, with close collaboration with teams in Manila and Chicago.

The candidate should have 3–6 years of FP&A experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with financial systems (PeopleSoft, HFM, TM1/Cognos). A CPA is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication to present information to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury or related reporting.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneDrive, Teams).
  • Knowledgeable in PeopleSoft, HFM, TM1/Cognos and other financial reporting systems.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools; Power BI is a plus.
  • CPA is a plus but not required.
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in FP&A, treasury, and related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly/quarterly reporting including forecasting, P&L variance analysis and preparation of reports for management.
  • Assist in annual planning and budgeting across the business unit with timely, accurate deliverables.
  • Process invoices, cost chargebacks, and assist in month-end close activities (reclassifications, adjustments).
  • Build strong relationships with Manila and other locations, coordinating responsibilities.
  • Identify process improvements to boost productivity and provide financial metrics for stakeholders.
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc 분석.

Overview
The Financial Analyst to support the business unit with various level of periodic reporting and analysis including, but not limited to, expense analysis, forecasting, variance analysis, invoices submission, monthly close processes, and other ad hoc tasks. The financial analyst will work closely and frequently with partners based both in Manila and other locations, particularly Chicago, to ensure the financial goals of the business unit and of Northern Trust are met.

Major Duties
  • Perform monthly/quarterly reporting processes which involve, but not limited to, forecasting, P&L variance analysis, and preparation of various reports and presentations to the management focusing on key business factors driving financial performance, as well as supplement reports needed by business partners.
  • Assist in annual planning which includes, but not limited to, supporting the business unit for the preparation, timeliness and integrity of the annual budget and proactively providing sound and valuable recommendations to stakeholders that would impact key business decisions
  • Assist in the submission of invoices as requested by business partners, processing of cost chargebacks, and assist in the month-end close process including, but not limited to, reclassifications and adjustment entries.
  • Develop strong relationships and closely coordinate with both partners in Manila and other locations in carrying the identified responsibilities.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader and the Manager in identifying process improvements to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the team and in developing financial/business metrics that are vital to stakeholders' decision-making.
  • Participate in other special projects and ad hoc requirements.
Knowledge/ Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate financial results.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to present relevant information to the Senior Management group and to various stakeholders
  • Relevant experience in Financial and Accounting processes is preferred
  • Proficiency with Office 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneDrive, and Teams, to efficiently perform analyses and communicate financial information to various stakeholders
  • Knowledgeable in PeopleSoft, HFM, TM1/Cognos, and other similar systems used in financial reporting, planning and analysis
  • Experience with business intelligence analytical tools required to interpret data, perform analyses and communicate financial information to various constituents. Knowledge and experience in Power BI reporting is a plus
  • Flexible and a team player
  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships in a geographically-blended environment
Experience Required
  • CPA a plus but not required.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, Project Analysis, and other relevant functional areas which may cover Accounting, Financial, Management & Statutory Reporting and other Accounting and Finance-related areas.
  • Industry knowledge is beneficial.
Working Hours
5AM - 2PM, Mondays - Fridays
