Responsibilities

• Complete target hours weekly and upload recordings using approved tools.

• Review feedback, re-record when needed, and participate in refresher training when requirements change.

Cobalt is hiring an AI Training Data Associate in Manila to record first-person video of everyday household and hand tasks, which AI companies use to train robots. Cobalt AI is a San Francisco company that builds training and evaluation data for AI models, working with expert professionals and everyday contributors around the world.

In this role, you will wear a head-mounted camera (and sometimes hand-tracking gloves) while doing ordinary tasks such as washing dishes, folding laundry, wiping tables, and tidying rooms. The recordings show exactly how human hands move and handle objects, so robots can learn to do the same work. No prior experience is required: we provide full training and all equipment.

What you'll do:

• Record yourself doing assigned household and hand tasks (for example dishwashing, laundry folding, cooking preparation, cleaning surfaces, and organizing items) while wearing a head-mounted camera, following a written task script for each session.
• Wear and set up the provided equipment correctly before each session, which may include a head-mounted camera, hand-tracking gloves, or a handheld gripper device, and check that it is charged, calibrated, and recording.
• Follow recording guidelines closely: keep your hands in the camera frame, move at a natural pace, use good lighting, and avoid showing faces, documents, screens, or other personal information.
• Complete a target number of recorded hours each week and upload your recordings at the end of each session, using the stable internet connection and upload tools we provide or approve.
• Fill in a short log for each session that records the task, location, duration, and any problems with the equipment or recording.
• Review feedback from our quality team, re-record sessions that do not meet the standard, and take part in occasional refresher training when task requirements change.
• Take care of the equipment you are issued, store it safely, and report damage or faults immediately.

Who we're looking for:

• At least 18 years old and legally able to work in the Philippines.
• Based in Manila and able to work from home or from a Cobalt-approved recording location.
• Comfortable doing everyday household tasks for several hours a day, including standing and repetitive hand movements.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow written instructions exactly, even when a task is repetitive.
• Able to read and understand written instructions in English; Filipino and English spoken communication is a plus for team coordination.
• Basic comfort with a smartphone or computer, including charging devices, transferring files, and using messaging apps.
• Access to a stable home internet connection for uploading recordings, or willingness to upload from a location we arrange.
• Willing to be recorded from a first-person view (your hands and surroundings are filmed, not your face) and to sign a consent and data release agreement.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in data collection, data annotation, or video recording projects for AI companies.
• Experience with wearable cameras, smart glasses, or similar devices.
• Access to a home with a kitchen, laundry area, or other spaces where a variety of tasks can be recorded.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends.
