Job summary

TELUS Digital is seeking a research-level mathematician to author a single, original mathematical problem that probes AI reasoning limits. You will provide a rigorous solution, exact answer, and all verification materials, including Python code and a self-contained statement suitable for independent evaluation.

The role targets researchers with deep expertise in number theory, combinatorics, algebraic geometry, analysis, and related areas, and requires strong programming capability to verify

Qualifications

• Active mathematical research at doctoral level or beyond.
• Strong depth in a mathematical research area with published or ongoing work.
• Programming capability sufficient to compute and verify results (Python preferred).
• Ability to state all definitions and assumptions explicitly and identify gaps under review.

Responsibilities

• Design one original research-level problem in your area of expertise.
• Make the problem self-contained with all definitions, conventions, and hypotheses.
• Define an exact answer and answer type; provide a machine-checkable format.
• Provide a complete solution write-up and reproducible code.
• Evaluate submissions using the provided testing harness and logs.
