The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental (PGMO), located at the Provincial Capitol Compound, Velez Street, Cagayan de Oro City, is the Local Government Unit of the province of Misamis Oriental which comprises of 424 barangays, making up 23 municipalities and 2

component cities (El Salvador City and Gingoog City) and is divided into two congressional districts. District I covers the City of Gingoog and 10 municipalities namely, Balingasag, Balingoan, Binuangan, Kinoguitan, Lagonglong, Medina, Salay, Subongcogon, Talisayan. District II stretches towards the western side of the province from Claveria and Jasaan to Lugait. As of June 30, 2023, the PGMO has a total workforce of three thousand eight hundred eighty-six (3886) employees working in the Provincial Capitol and eight Misamis Oriental Provincial Hospitals. The agency is anchored on its PAGLAUM development agenda which includes Participatory Governance, Agricultural Development for Poverty Eradication, Goal-Oriented Tourism Development, Livelihood and Employment through Industry Development, Agressive Programs for Youth Welfare and Development, Unified Efforts for Health and Social Services Delivery, and Mobilization of Resources through Equitable Sharing.
