Job summary

Manulife FinancialCorporation’s Asia Valuation Shared Services team within the MGS Actuarial Function seeks an Actuarial Senior Manager. The role focuses on IFRS 17 interpretation, valuation analytics, and reporting across the organization.

The position is based in UP Ayala Technohub, Quezon City, with a hybrid arrangement (3 days onsite). The candidate should bring 10+ years actuary experience, SOA/ASP progress toward Fellowship, and strong skills in AXIS, SQL, Python, and QlikView.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field.
• At least 10 years of actuarial work experience in Insurance or Financial Services.
• Associate designation (SOA/ASP) with meaningful progress toward Fellowship.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, VBA, Access), GGY AXIS, SQL, QlikView, Python or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to model and analyze actuarial financial metrics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to report to various levels.
• Amenable to work in UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City) and in a hybrid setup (3x a week onsite).

Responsibilities

We are currently searching for a talented and driven individual to join our Asia Valuation Shared Services team within our MGS Actuarial Function as an Actuarial Senior Manager. Established in 2012, the team has become an actuarial center of excellence, with over 130 staff and growing, along with increasing range and ownership of deliverables, specializing in Valuation, Liability and Asset Modelling, Experience Analytics, Pricing, and more.

Position Responsibilities:

• Support IFRS 17 implementation by interpreting new standard and translate it into user requirement
• Consolidate, analyze and explain the financial and data analysis results
• Support future business reporting process design and ensure complies with valuation control requirement for Business Unit team.
• Provide advice on results validation on developed IFRS 17 solution focusing on accuracy and efficiency
• Provide documentation and training to other team members on the subject matters
• Provide ad-hoc support to the team (e.g. AXIS modeling work) as resource pools if needed

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field
• At least 10 years of actuarial work experience in Insurance or Financial Services
• Associate designation in any recognized actuarial organization (SOA, ASP), with meaningful progress towards Fellowship.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, VBA, Access), GGY AXIS, SQL, Qlikview, Python or similar programs
• Demonstrated experience in applying actuarial concepts to independently model and analyze actuarial financial metrics
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, organize, and report information, results, and recommendations to various levels across the organization.
• Strong ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, for self and others.
• Amenable to work in UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City)
• Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite)
