Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance; CPA is an advantage.
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems; SAP experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of journal entries, cost accounting, asset posting, and budget monitoring.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coach accounting personnel; meet reporting deadlines.
• Good ethics and compliance with tax regulations and industry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Review and post payment documents, trader assessments, and journal vouchers for accruals and adjustments.
• Oversee asset posting for construction in progress and budget tracking.
• Review and consolidate departmental OPEX budget submissions; monitor expenses vs budget.
• Prepare and consolidate monthly reports including operating expenses and PSA filings.
• Maintain SAP accuracy and support process improvements; align with SAP functionalities.
• Lead and coach accounting personnel; promote cross-functional collaboration.
• Coordinate asset scrap management and SAP postings; ensure asset accuracy.
• Assist audits and month-end close activities.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities?

The Accounting Supervisor plays a critical leadership role within the Finance and Accounting function, responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. The role supervises accounting personnel, reviews key financial documents, ensures compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and provides essential support in the preparation of monthly and year-end reports. The Accounting Supervisor works closely with the Plant Finance Manager and other departments to ensure effective budget monitoring, cost control, and financial transparency.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities?

1. Accounting Operations Oversight

• Supervise daily accounting activities and ensure that all transactions are accurately and promptly recorded.

• Review and post payment documents, sugar & molasses traders’ assessments, and journal vouchers for accruals and adjusting entries.

• Oversee asset posting for construction in progress and budget tracking of various accounts.

1. Budgeting and Expense Monitoring

• Review and consolidate departmental Operating Expenses (OPEX) budget submissions.

• Monitor and report actual expenses versus budget for travel, transportation, and trucking incentives.

• Assist in budget planning, variance analysis, and implementation of spending controls.

1. Reporting and Compliance

• Prepare and consolidate monthly reports including schedules of operating expenses, production costs, and reports to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

• Ensure timely submission of accurate reports to Head Office and government agencies.

• Provide data support for BOI (Board of Investments) compliance and other regulatory needs.

1. Process Improvement and SAP Utilization

• Maintain SAP accuracy by reviewing entries, ensuring proper posting, and reconciling accounts.

• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and audit-readiness.

• Lead efforts in ensuring that accounting processes are aligned with company standards and SAP system functionalities.

1. Leadership and Team Management

• Supervise and coach accounting personnel, ensuring alignment with departmental standards and timelines.

• Promote collaboration within the finance team and with other departments to support cross-functional goals.

• Provide technical guidance and ensure continuous development of team members.

1. Asset and Scrap Management

• Facilitate bidding and disposal of scrap items and ensure compliance with asset management policies.

• Oversee the accuracy of asset posting and monitor asset-related transactions in SAP.

1. Other Tasks and Support Functions

• Coordinate with internal departments to gather, verify, and reconcile financial data.

• Perform other duties assigned by the Plant Finance Manager, especially in support of audits and month-end close activities.

What are the Qualifications?

1. Educational and Professional Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance; CPA is an advantage.
