Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the day-to-day activities of the accounting department.
• Ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and tax reporting to BIR on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis as well as external audits.
• Handle customs documentation, import/export tax requirements, and liaise with the Bureau of Customs when needed.
• Prepare financial reports, budget forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate ledgers and financial records in accordance with PH accounting standards.
• Supervise and support the accounting staff; review journal entries and reconciliations.
• Make improvements to the accounting systems, processes, and internal controls, aiming at increasing their accuracy and efficiency.
• Preserve internal controls and compliance with government regulations.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. Candidates with a degree in business administration or finance are also accepted, provided that they have completed specific accounting coursework
• Must pass the CPA Examination and the candidate must have an updated CPA license.
• Must have at least 1 year or more of relevant work experience in accounting or auditing.
• Proficient in financial systems and reporting software

• Background in retail is an advantage
