Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain information, deliverables, and documents for service and compliance tasks.

  • Create financial work papers, adjustment entries, and financial statements.
  • Verify bank reconciliations tie to the General Ledger.
  • Reconcile key accounts (A/R, A/P, inventory, payroll liabilities, etc.).
  • Prepare WIP revisions and finalize over/under billing for projects.
  • Complete the financial packet for month-end and year-end close.
  • Support audit trails and internal policy alignment.
  • Assist accounting technicians and provide guidance.
  • Overtime during peak periods including month-end close or tax season.

The Accountant I is responsible for completing a wide range of accounting tasks to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting. This role supports the preparation of scorecards, financial work papers, adjustment entries, and financial statements. It also plays a critical part in executing detailed reconciliations across multiple balance sheet accounts, verifying data integrity, and finalizing billing.

Job Description
  • Update and maintain requested information, deliverables, and supporting documents for service and compliance tasks.
  • Prepare Accountant Scorecards and status deliverables.
  • Create financial work papers, adjustment entries, and prepare financial statements.
  • Verify that bank reconciliations tie accurately to the General Ledger.
  • Reconcile key accounts including: Accounts Receivable & Retainage Receivable, Other Receivables o Prepaid Accounts, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Investments o Accounts Payable & Retainage Payable, Credit Card Payable, Payroll Liabilities o Payroll taxes (Federal, FICA, State), loans, leases, GE tax liabilities, Other balance sheet accounts, indirect allocations, job cost allocations
  • Prepare and update work in progress (WIP) revisions and finalize over/under billing for projects.
  • Complete the financial packet for month-end and year-end close.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to accounting technicians, ensuring accurate reconciliations and proper documentation.
  • Support compliance by maintaining clear audit trails and ensuring all records align with internal policies and standards.
  • Maintain a positive, responsive attitude, and contribute to team needs especially during busy periods requiring overtime.
Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and pivot tables) and Outlook.
  • Clear and coherent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and senior staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy across all financial data and reports.
  • Experience providing guidance and assistance to accounting support staff.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak periods such as month-end close or tax season to meet deadlines and maintain data integrity.
Screening Criteria
  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy.
  • Certified Public Accountant or CPA eligible.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in accounting tasks such as AP/AR, bank reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, and payroll.
  • Must have a stable employment history.
