Job summary

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Finance professional to join the Global Services Finance team in the GS Finance Accounting area. You will lead accounting activities, ensure SOX compliance, and support audits while driving process improvements across regions and processes.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting or shared services, solid GAAP knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s level degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline.

This role will be part of the Global Services Finance team in the GS Finance Accounting process area. The Global Services Finance organization provides best-in-class, cost-effective financial services, and compliance—in a J&J way—to our Operating Companies around the world.

The GSF accounting team is responsible for the complete and accurate accounting for all transactions. This includes but is not limited to creating the Sales and corresponding Purchase orders, reconciling out of balances, monitoring ageing, and performing balance sheet reconciliations.

Johnson &Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals. It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Orthopaedics business. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Orthopaedics at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.

  • Timely closing & execution of financial periods as per closing calendar and in accordance with SLAcommitments, fully observing Compliance, Internal Audit & SOX requirements.
  • Accountable for completeness, accuracy and validity of the actuals reported within process/entity scope.
  • Deep expertise, fully knowledgeable of the Worldwide Procedures and compliance requirements for respective areas.
  • Regular focus on Balance Sheet reconciliations to minimize open items.
  • On the job training for new team members / BPO partners.
  • Support auditors and legal authorities with the execution of required activities.
  • Understand, adhere, and execute per worldwide policies and procedures. Identify compliance risks and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure strong internal controls are in place, in order to achieve “adequate” internal and external audit ratings.

Qualifications
Education:

Minimum Bachelor’s level degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline

REQUIRED:
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in a Shared Service or BPO organization.
  • Experience in participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in Account to Report or General Accounting process.
  • Successfully manage multiple priorities, be very organized and work efficiently to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to frame clear & concise communication across all relevant stakeholders.
  • Open to new ideas, rapid change and embracing new technologies.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach.
PREFERRED:
  • Education: CPA, CMA, MBA and/or other financial certification
