88 Aces Maritime Services Incorporated seeks a Third Engineer to support safe operation and maintenance of ship engines and machinery. The role requires hands-on engine room watchkeeping, adherence to SOLAS and MARPOL, and proactive maintenance under guidance from the Chief Engineer.

You will update the Planned Maintenance System, manage spares, and contribute to environmental and safety compliance while working with a crew in a dynamic maritime environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine room watchkeeping and equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL and flag state regulations.
• Strong communication and proactive maintenance mindset.

Role Purpose: Support the smooth operation and maintenance of the ship’s engines and machinery to ensure safe, efficient performance.

Key Responsibilities

Execute engine room watches safely and efficiently, perform maintenance tasks as assigned, update the Planned Maintenance System (PMS), and manage inventory of spares under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The Third Engineer must be familiar with company policies, SOLAS, MARPOL, and flag state regulations. Key knowledge areas include marine engineering systems, emergency procedures, risk assessment, and troubleshooting techniques. Essential skills include proficiency in watchkeeping, clear communication, proactive maintenance management, and adaptability to modern technology.

Experience: Demonstrates reliability as an effective engine room team member, with a strong record in watchkeeping and equipment maintenance. Shows a clear understanding of environmental compliance requirements and exhibits adaptability and quick response during technical issues and emergencies.
