HTL Group of Companies is seeking a talented 2D Graphic Designer for a 2-month contract beginning 14 September 2026. We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented 2D Graphic Designer to join our team on a 2-month contract. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for aesthetics, colour, composition and typography, and is able to translate creative ideas into polished and visually engaging designs across both print and digital platforms.
You should be someone who understands visual balance, proportions, sizing and brand consistency, and can independently take a concept from an initial idea through to a finished design.
Develop creative and visually compelling layouts for brochures, posters, catalogues, presentations and other marketing collateral.
Create and refine layouts with strong attention to composition, spacing, hierarchy, typography and visual balance.
Perform photo editing and compositing, including Photoshop work to realistically place or Photoshop environments/backgrounds into furniture imagery.
Apply a strong understanding of colour theory, sizing, proportions and visual aesthetics to all design work.
Develop and maintain brand guidelines / brand guides, ensuring consistent use of colours, typography, imagery, graphic elements and overall visual direction.
Design eDMs and other digital marketing materials with consideration for readability, hierarchy and engagement.
Adapt existing creative assets across different formats, dimensions and platforms while maintaining visual consistency.
Work closely with the team to understand creative briefs, translate ideas into visual concepts and make appropriate design recommendations.
Prepare artwork for both digital and print applications, ensuring files are correctly formatted and production-ready.
Review and refine designs based on feedback while maintaining the overall creative direction and brand identity.
Keep up with current design trends, visual references and emerging creative tools.
Approximately 5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably with experience across both print and digital design.
Strong design fundamentals and an excellent eye for aesthetics, colour, proportion, typography and composition.
Ability to understand and create balanced, sophisticated and visually cohesive layouts.
Has a strong natural eye for design and knows when something looks visually right - or what needs to be adjusted.
Understands that good design is not just about making something attractive, but about balance, hierarchy, proportion and communication.
Is confident making decisions around colour, scale, typography, imagery and layout.
Can take a rough idea or brief and turn it into a polished, professional piece of creative work.
Is comfortable working independently while being receptive to feedback and collaboration.
Is resourceful, creative and able to find practical design solutions within a short timeframe.
Has a good understanding of current design trends while maintaining strong fundamental design principles.
