Kyndryl Peru S.A.C. is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, build, and maintain high-volume mainframe logic while refactoring legacy code to enable seamless cloud and mobile interactions with core data.

You'll work on modernizing architectures, applying OOP and design patterns, and collaborating across teams to deliver scalable, robust software using Java and containerized microservices.

The Role

Your role Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world's MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You'll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. Experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely. In this role, you'll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you'll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe’s core data.

What you will do

• Maintain Performance: Prevent decay and find efficiencies: Monitor the architecture and identify opportunities to optimize code to maintain and enhance mainframe performance.
• Debug and Test: Find and fix: Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to keep mission-critical applications running.
• Develop for the Future: Bridge the gap: As an instrumental player in modernization, you'll extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.

Who You Are

Required skills and experience

• Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
• Excellent coding skills and solid development experience (Java) with debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Software development methodologies, with demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust software.
• Experienced in relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST-based web services.
• Knowledge of architecture design - Microservices architecture, containers (Docker & k8s), messaging queues.
• Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns.

Preferred skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Certification in one or more of the hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, and Google GCP) - otherwise, you can obtain certifications with Kyndryl.
• Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
