Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking a Sourcing Group Lead Buyer for Control Systems & Mechatronics at its Lengau site. You will independently manage defined product groups, develop procurement strategies, and build a competitive supplier base to secure reliable supply for PALFINGER product lines.

In this role you will negotiate contracts, assess suppliers, collaborate with QA, Engineering, and Logistics, and conduct total cost analyses to drive value.

Qualifications

• Commercial or technical education in mechatronics, electrical engineering or electronics.
• Experience in strategic procurement and international environments.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• German fluent and English negotiation level; willing to travel internationally.

In procurement, you will be responsible for selected product groups within the Control Systems & Mechatronics category. You will develop appropriate product group strategies, build a competitive supplier base and ensure a reliable supply for PALFINGER’s product lines.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently manage defined product groups, monitor procurement markets and identify relevant market trends and developments

Select, assess and qualify suppliers; negotiate contracts and prices; and support ongoing series production

Work closely with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Customer Service and Logistics to ensure effective coordination of quality, delivery schedules and planning

Conduct price and value analyses, including total cost assessments, to support well-founded procurement decisions

Support project management and continuously improve procurement processes

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Commercial or technical education in mechatronics, electrical engineering or electronics (apprenticeship, technical college, university of applied sciences or university degree); further training in strategic procurement is an advantage

Professional experience in a commercial or technical role, as well as experience in strategic procurement - ideally in an international environment

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, a confident manner when working with internal and external partners, and the ability to represent the company externally

Proficiency in MS 365 applications; experience with SAP R/3 or S/4HANA is an advantage

German and fluent, negotiation-level English; willingness to travel internationally (10%)

Minimum yearly gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 54.359,06 based on full‑time employment. According to experience and qualification, we offer a market‑conform overpayment.
