Zusammenfassung

Bluelight LLC is seeking a backend engineer skilled in Elixir and the Phoenix framework to design, build, and maintain scalable services. You will own features from conception to release, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and implement unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.

You will work on RESTful APIs (or GraphQL) and PostgreSQL-backed systems in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment that values learning and professional growth.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on backend development.
• Strong proficiency and professional experience with Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Experience with OTP, concurrent and distributed systems, and functional programming principles.
• Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs (and/or GraphQL) and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL (Ecto).
• A strong product sense and a passion for building exceptional, reliable, and scalable systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build & Innovate: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable backend systems and APIs using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.

• Own Features: Take ownership of features from conception to launch, including crafting technical specs, writing clean code, and ensuring a smooth release process.
• Ensure Quality: Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, robustness, and reliability. Participate in code reviews to maintain a high-quality code culture.
• Optimize: Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and continuously improve application performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies in the Elixir ecosystem to help us innovate and improve.
