Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer Infrastructure in Austria. You will analyze complex infrastructure, design end-to-end solutions, and drive delivery across hybrid environments.

You will collaborate with Architects, Project Managers and Technicians, documenting architectures and automating processes for reliable operations. Ideal candidates excel in Windows Server, cloud platforms, and have fluent English and German.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, or related infrastructure areas.
• Experience with enterprise IT applications and public cloud domains (AWS) is preferred.
• Hands-on in at least one area of DevOps, systems administration, or systems architecture.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex infrastructure issues across servers, networks, cloud environments and on‑prem to identify root causes.
• Plan end-to-end infrastructure solutions and integrate across platforms.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to drive project delivery and ensure timelines are met.

• Pursue certifications and grow towards Architect roles.

The Role

Step into the engine room of enterprise technology, where every decision you make can shape how a customer’s systems perform today - and scale for tomorrow. In this role, you’ll balance hands‑on delivery with long‑term strategic planning. From analyzing issues and testing solutions to automating processes and integrating across platforms, your work will touch every layer of IT infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with Architects, Technicians and Project Managers, gaining broad exposure and continuous opportunities to grow your skills and influence.

What you will do

Analyze and Solve

• Diagnose complex issues across servers, networks, cloud environments and systems to identify root causes.
• Recommend solutions that balance technical feasibility, timelines and customer priorities.
• Test, refine and automate processes to improve reliability, efficiency and repeatability.
• Assess risks proactively and implement strategies to prevent disruptions.

Design and Integrate

• Plan end-to-end infrastructure solutions across platforms and technologies.
• Integrate systems in hybrid cloud and on-prem environments to ensure seamless operation.
• Automate workflows and processes to streamline delivery and reduce errors.
• Document architectures and procedures for hand‑offs, knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Collaborate and Deliver

• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Architects, Project Managers and Technicians.
• Drive project delivery from initiation to completion with attention to quality and timelines.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly to customers and stakeholders.
• Build customer confidence by delivering tangible, high-impact results.

Grow and Advance

• Expand technical expertise across cloud platforms, enterprise IT systems and emerging technologies.
• Earn certifications and qualifications while applying them on real projects.
• Pursue career paths toward Architect or Distinguished Engineer roles.

Who You Are

Required skills and experience

• Deep expertise within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• Enterprise IT application experience.
• Hands‑on experience in at least one of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in public cloud AWS domain.
• In‑depth knowledge of Windows.
• Fluent English and German.

Preferred skills and experience

• Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience in Windows Server, AD, DNS, GPO, PKI, RDS, VMware Cloud Foundation, Veeam, MSSQL, IIS, CheckMK, Graylog, PowerShell and Python.

The minimum yearly salary suitable for this full-time role as a Senior Systems Engineer Infrastructure is €74,200. Your actual salary will be discussed in a personal interview, taking into account your professional experience as well as qualifications and educational background.

As this role is dedicated to supporting our customers in Austria a valid work permission is a prerequisite for this opportunity.
