The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Growth Marketing Manager to own and scale KickAss’ growth. This is a commercial, hands‑on role responsible for driving revenue, margin, and customer lifetime value across CRM, onsite conversion, merchandising, and performance channels.

While supported by specialist teams, this role requires direct execution. You will be expected to build, launch, and iterate campaigns yourself using modern marketing tools, while leveraging AI to move faster and smarter.

This role does not directly manage paid media execution, but works closely with our existing in‑house and agency performance team to ensure alignment with growth, trading, and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue & Growth Ownership

  • Own online revenue growth targets across DTC eCommerce
  • Build and execute growth strategies across:
    • CRM (Email, SMS, loyalty)
    • Onsite conversion & merchandising
    • Performance marketing (in partnership with the paid media team)
    • Balance growth vs profitability, not just top‑line sales

Campaign Execution (Hands‑On)

  • Personally execute campaigns across:
    • EDMs and SMS
    • Landing pages and onsite banners
    • Promotional assets for web and CRM
  • Use Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) to:
    • Create, adapt, and deploy campaign creative
    • Rapidly iterate offers and messaging
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g. generative copy, creative variations, data analysis) to:
    • Increase speed to market
    • Improve testing velocity
    • Enhance personal output without reliance on large teams

Performance Marketing (Partnership, Not Lead)

  • Work closely with the existing paid media team to:
    • Align campaigns with promotions, launches, and stock position
    • Ensure focus on ROAS, contribution margin, and efficient scaling
    • Influence creative direction, offers, and landing pages
  • Use performance insights to guide:
    • Budget allocation
    • Channel priorities
  • Act as the commercial growth owner, not the media buyer

CRM, Retention & LTV

  • Own lifecycle marketing strategy:
    • Acquisition → activation → retention → loyalty
  • Build and optimise:
    • Email & SMS flows (Klaviyo or equivalent)
    • Loyalty and member pricing programs
  • Drive improvements in repeat rate, LTV, and cohort performance

Conversion Rate & Onsite Growth

  • Optimise the Shopify Plus storefront for:
    • Conversion rate (CVR)
    • Average order value (AOV)
    • Product discovery and merchandising
  • Execute and iterate on:
    • PDP improvements
    • Landing pages
    • Promotional mechanics
  • Use data, testing, and customer insight to drive decisions

Promotions, Launches & Trading

  • Lead execution of:
    • Major sales events (EOFY, Black Friday, Power Blitzes)
    • Product launches
    • Clearance and inventory‑led campaigns
  • Partner closely with merchandising, supply chain, and retail to ensure:
    • Stock‑aware campaigns
    • Margin discipline
    • Clean handover between online and retail

Data, Reporting & Insight

  • Own growth reporting across:
    • Revenue
    • CAC
    • LTV
    • CVR
    • Channel contribution
  • Translate data into clear, commercial actions
  • Use insights to influence pricing, promotion, and product strategy

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 7+ years in eCommerce growth or digital marketing
  • Proven experience scaling Shopify / DTC brands
  • Demonstrated ability to personally execute campaigns, not just brief them
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Canva
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • CRM platforms (Klaviyo or similar)
    • High AI fluency and comfort using AI tools as a daily productivity multiplier
    • Commercial mindset with strong financial literacy
    • Comfortable influencing teams without direct ownership

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in omnichannel retail
  • Experience working with in‑house and agency performance teams
  • Inventory‑aware growth experience
  • Background in consumer goods, outdoor, or lifestyle brands
