The ideal candidate has 20+ years in geotechnical engineering, dam safety, and mine infrastructure, with experience as EOR/ITR and leadership in client engagements.

Formación

• Civil Engineering degree and professional licensure required.
• 20+ years of progressive geotechnical and mining infrastructure experience.
• Experience leading design, review, and construction support for Tailings Storage Facilities, heap leach facilities, water dams and related mining infrastructure.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the technical delivery of complex geotechnical and civil engineering projects for major mining developments and mine waste facilities.
• Provide strategic technical direction and oversight throughout all project phases.
• Act as a senior advisor to clients on geotechnical risk management, dam safety, and mine infrastructure performance.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide mentorship to senior engineers.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR), Deputy EOR, Technical Reviewer, or Independent Technical Reviewer as required.
• Support business development, client relationships, and proposal development.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Civil Engineer to join our Engineering Team and contribute to a diverse portfolio of mining, geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil infrastructure projects across Latin America and internationally.

This position is intended for a highly recognized professional with 20+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, mine waste management, and large-scale mining infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical authority, providing strategic guidance, technical governance, and leadership across multidisciplinary teams while supporting clients through all stages of the project lifecycle, from conceptual studies and feasibility assessments to detailed design, construction, operations, and closure.

The Senior Geotechnical Civil Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers of Record (EORs), Independent Review Boards, senior technical specialists, and executive-level client representatives to develop innovative, technically robust, and risk-informed solutions for critical mining assets.

This Role Will Give You the Opportunity To

• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR), Deputy EOR, Technical Reviewer, or Independent Technical Reviewer, as required.
• Support business development initiatives, key client relationships, strategic pursuits, and proposal development.
• Represent KCB in technical forums, industry conferences, and client engagements.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineering Registration (CIP)
• Master's Degree or Postgraduate Specialization in Geotechnical Engineering, Geomechanics, Mining Engineering, Risk Management, or related discipline preferred.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering and mining infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading the design, review, and construction support of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs), Heap Leach Facilities, Water Dams, and related mining infrastructure.
• Experience acting as Engineer of Record (EOR), Deputy EOR, Independent Technical Reviewer (ITR), DSR reviewer, or similar governance roles is highly desirable.
• Strong expertise in dam safety, geotechnical risk assessment, numerical modeling, dam breach studies, and mine waste management.
• Experience managing project teams, budgets, schedules, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Proficiency with industry-standard engineering and project management software.
• Advanced English communication skills; Portuguese is considered an asset.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
