Job summary

IDOM is seeking a Semi-Senior/Senior Mechanical Engineer in Lima to contribute to Oil & Gas projects within a multidisciplinary, international team. You will engage with latest technologies, standards, and best practices, supporting professional growth and project delivery.

The role offers exposure to large-scale projects, travel, and a potential path to partnership, with a focus on engineering rigor, teamwork, and continuous learning in a global office network.

Qualifications

• Professional in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related fields; 6–10 years in Oil & Gas project development/design.
• Licensed and in good standing under Peruvian engineering law (Law 28858).
• Specialist or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (desirable).
• Intermediate English (B1).
• Advanced MS Office proficiency.
• Advanced mechanical design tools and piping design skills.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, ANSI, HI, TEMA, AWWA, NFPA, NTP codes/standards.
• Upstream/Downstream process knowledge.
• Fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, materials science expertise.

We are looking for a Semi-Senior/Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team of Oil & Gas in our offices Perú. ABOUT YOU

• Professional in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of six (6) to ten (10) years of experience in the development and design of conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering projects within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Licensed and in good standing, in accordance with Article 1 of Law 28858, which regulates the practice of engineering in Peru.
• Specialist or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (desirable).
• Intermediate English proficiency (B1 level).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced proficiency in mechanical design tools (focused on mechanical or piping design).
• Knowledge of local and international design standards in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as API, ASME, ANSI, HI, TEMA, AWWA, NFPA, NTP, among others.
• Knowledge and competencies in Upstream and Downstream processes.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles and practices, especially in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, and materials science.
• Ability to analyze hydraulic systems and perform pipe stress analysis.
• Experience in sizing rotating equipment, and designing tanks, vessels, separators, thermal treaters, heat exchangers, among others.
• Advanced use of computer-aided software such as DuctSizer, AME TANK, TANK 2020, AutoCAD 2010, among others.
• Willingness to travel and work under a non-standard (1x1 rotational) work schedule.
• Strong teamwork skills and technical rigor.
