A progressive legal firm is looking for an experienced Senior Commercial & Property Solicitor based in Queensland. You will lead various transactional matters, drive the firm’s growth, and maintain strong client relationships while working in a supportive environment. Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of experience in commercial and property law, strong drafting skills, and the ability to work autonomously. The role offers flexible working arrangements and opportunities for career progression.

Experienced Commercial & Property Lawyer
The Opportunity

Lockett McCullough Lawyers is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial & Property Solicitor to lead sophisticated transactional matters across each of our office locations. We don't mind which office you are to be based at, we prioritise finding the right person to fit within the progressive culture at our firm.

You will work closely with business owners and commercial clients across Queensland with complete autonomy.

This is a strategic growth hire. You will play a key role in shaping the next phase of the firm’s expansion while delivering real commercial outcomes for clients and building the commercial and property division within the firm.

The Position
You will:
  • Lead Business sales and acquisitions including due diligence, contract drafting and negotiations
  • Manage commercial property transactions including acquisitions, disposals, put and call options, easements and special conditions
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial and retail leases, variations and associated agreements
  • Draft, review and negotiate Off The Plan contracts, property contracts and transactional documents
  • Review and provide advice on Retirement Village contracts
  • Prepare and review Seller Disclosure Statements
  • Prepare, review and provide advice on Easements, Covenants and Encumbrances
  • Provide Guarantor Advice for clients requiring independent legal advice certificates
  • Advise business owners on commercial contracts, Shareholder Agreements, Partnership Agreements, trust documents , Deeds of Agreement and the like.
  • Assist our residential conveyancers with their A‑Z residential conveyancing matters when required
  • Maintain strong client and referral relationships through clear commercial communication
Key Requirements
You bring:
  • 5+ years PAE in commercial and property law
  • Demonstrated experience in transactional matters including business sales, property deals and leases
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and advisory skills
  • Ability to manage matters autonomously with commercial judgement
  • A team mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience with PEXA and conveyancing protocols
  • Confidence in building client and referrer trust through clarity and delivery
  • Strong generalists with relevant commercial and property experience are encouraged to apply
