Job summary

Bechtel in Lima is seeking a seasoned Project Engineer Manager/Project Area Manager to lead a team and manage the engineering aspects of complex mining and metals projects. You will participate in project planning, reviews of proposals, and own the engineering elements of capital estimates, ensuring scope and budget compliance.

Qualifications

• General M&M industry experience (preferred).
• 2+ years as Project Engineer Manager or Project Area Manager.
• Experience in M&M engineering projects developed in 3D model environment.
• Site or operational experience related to M&M (desirable).
• Experience in projects with different engineering offices (desirable).
• Experience in all phases (Conceptual, Pre-feasibility, Feasibility, Detail) (desirable).
• Knowledge in AACE and FEL standards.
• Medium to Advanced English level.

Responsibilities

• Being responsible for multiple small projects or designated medium- to large-sized complex engineering assignments (programs) within a global business unit.
• Possessing full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.
• Participating in project planning prior to proposals to provide technical guidance in the engineering and construction review of proposals.
• Providing input to and owning the engineering elements of project capital estimates, including proposal and execution quantities and budgets.
• Reviewing major changes or deviations in project scope, material quantities, budget, or schedule, and assisting in defining changes, obtaining accurate estimates of required hours, and recommending budget adjustments.
• Ensuring alignment of engineering efforts with the Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H), and Project Controls teams.
• Directing the preparation of project studies, reports, forecasts, special engineering reports, and plant data books.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate the engineering technical aspects for complex projects. You will participate in project planning, proposal review, and will own the engineering elements of capital estimates. Your technical guidance and recommendations will ensure engineering aspects meet project requirements and remain within scope and budget.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• General M&M industry experience (preferred).
• 2 or more years of experience as Project Engineer Manager or Project Area Manager.
• Experience in M&M engineering projects developed in 3D model environment.
• Site or operational experience related to M&M business (desirable).
• Experience in projects executed with different engineering offices (workshare) (desirable).
• Experience in projects in all phases (Conceptual, Pre-feasibility, Feasibility, Detail) (desirable).
• Knowledge in AACE and FEL standards.
• Medium to Advanced English level.
