Statkraft seeks a Project Engineer Wind to lead all wind turbine technical topics across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility to handover, ensuring technical integrity and risk control. You will oversee turbine approvals and manage interfaces with BoP, grid, construction, and commissioning across LATAM projects, primarily in Peru, with Chile and Brazil as needed.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Fluent English and Spanish required for multinational teams.
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering, construction, and execution of wind projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in wind turbine technology for large-scale projects.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and own all wind turbine technical topics across the full project lifecycle.
  • Manage wind turbine supply and electromechanical subcontractors and related tests.
  • Develop and manage all technical interfaces between turbine suppliers, BoP, grid, and project teams.
  • Lead and support RFP processes with technical specifications and evaluations.
  • Provide technical support to project development and pipeline projects, ensuring readiness and risk mitigation.

The Project Engineer Wind is responsible for leading all wind turbine technical topics across the full project lifecycle, from project feasibility through execution and handover. The role ensures robust technical definition during RFP processes, proposal evaluations, and contract technical appendices, while governing turbine quality, design, and interface management. During execution, the Project Engineer Wind oversees key turbine approval milestones and manages interfaces with BoP, grid, construction, and commissioning. The position provides essential wind turbine expertise across a LATAM project portfolio, supporting projects primarily in Peru while contributing, when required, to projects in Chile and Brazil, ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and risk control across all assigned projects.

  • Lead and own all wind turbine technical topics across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility through execution, commissioning, and handover, ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and risk control.
  • Manage wind turbine supply and electromechanical subcontractors, covering technical contractual conditions, execution follow‑up, inspection and test plans, factory and site acceptance tests, and definition and closure of action plans for any deviations.
  • Develop and manage all technical interfaces between turbine suppliers, BoP contractors, grid, owner’s engineering, designers, construction, and commissioning teams, ensuring scope integration, constructability, and alignment with schedule, cost, and quality targets.
  • Lead and support RFP processes, including preparation of technical specifications, instructions to bidders, technical proposal evaluation, contract technical appendices, and technical support during commercial negotiations for turbine and electromechanical contracts.
  • Provide technical support to project development and pipeline projects, validating key technical documents for construction and operation, supporting governance decision gates, and ensuring technical readiness and risk mitigation ahead of execution.
  • Oversee turbine quality and performance, including approval of Mechanical Completion, Commissioning Completion, trial and Taking over documentation, conformity tests, final inspections, and verification of contractual performance and availability requirements.
  • Support and supervise execution, testing, and commissioning activities for wind turbines, ensuring compliance with standards, supplier obligations, and project safety and quality requirements.
  • Contribute to wind projects across LATAM, providing technical support and expertise to projects in Chile and Brazil when required, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering, construction, and execution of wind projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in wind turbine technology applied to large‑scale projects.
  • Experience in project management, governance, and contract execution.
  • Experience managing suppliers and engineering companies.
  • Experience with RFPs, technical evaluations, and contract documentation.
  • Fluent English and Spanish
