About the role
With an initial focus on respite and community participation, the Practice Leader provides guidance and leadership to grow our teams and drive best practice, quality, and safety in delivering NDIS services. In addition to leading clinical and operational excellence, the role is responsible for enhancing relationship management, building awareness of our services, and strengthening our customer base. The Practice Leader plays a key role in positioning our services within the community, fostering strong connections with participants, families, and referrers, and supporting sustainable growth aligned with organisational values and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework.
Ensuring consistency and adherence to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework and person‑centred clinical governance, the Practice Leader works closely with services to identify, implement, and monitor measurable improvements in quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. The role actively cultivates strong relationships with participants, families, referrers, and community partners to support sustainable growth, enhance service reputation, and ensure that participants experience high‑quality, responsive, and safe supports.
Day‑to‑day, the Practice Leader:
Creates and administers programs for Respite and Community Participation that are tailored to individual needs.
Supports the team's focus on delivering the best care, while monitoring and measuring key performance criteria and metrics.
Oversees the quality of the customer journey.
Supports a rich and diverse environment that encourages exemplary performance, while actively fostering a culture of diversity, cultural safety, and respectful engagement with people from all backgrounds.
Works closely with managers, administration and support workers holistically and safely, applying stringent adherence to NDIS legislation, guidelines, and standards.
Implements and monitors behaviour support plans (BSPs) that aim to provide early intervention and reduce restrictive practice.
Reports internally on reportable incidents, behaviours of concern, the use of regulated restrictive practice, and variations to practice.
Provides a point of contact, as a key person, in the delivery of Respite and Community Participation.
Delivers successful results with audits and assessments, and in the achievement of client goals and outcomes.
Contributes to high‑quality, regular reporting on customer satisfaction and performance, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Support the 24/7 on‑call roster by providing responsive guidance to clients and workers, ensuring safe, appropriate, and risk‑aware decision‑making at all times.
About you
To be successful in this role, you need:
Tertiary qualifications in disability/community services, allied health, behavioural, nursing or similar
Legal eligibility to work in Australia

Experience:
A comprehensive working knowledge of:
The National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013
The NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators
Child Safe Legislation
Behaviour support planning and restrictive practices, including reporting obligations and mechanisms
Reportable incidents obligations, and mechanisms
As well as
Experience in the successful delivery of NDIS Supported Independent Living, Respite and Community Participation programs
Experience/knowledge of complex autism and global developmental delay
Demonstrated quality client relationships, cultural sensitivity, and consultative approaches to support teams, networks, and families
Project management
Proven success in direct management of diverse teams
