Bechtel is recruiting for a site-based leadership role at Yanacocha, Peru. You will lead a team of craft professionals on the water treatment project, coordinating scheduling, resources and subcontractor activities to meet design, safety and budget requirements.

You will interpret engineering documents with field teams, ensure current designs are used, and uphold Bechtel standards while driving productivity on a large-scale industrial site in Peru.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) required.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience; or 12–14 years for high voltage line work (22.9 kV).

Project Overview:

Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 50 craft)

• Supervising and/or directing assigned craft activities.
• Scheduling work to be performed and reviewing work accomplished by each craft.

Planning / Productivity

• Determining workforce requirements.
• Coordinating established area operational plans.

Tools, Materials & Equipment

• Monitoring tool and equipment usage on site.
• Overseeing the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensuring crafts have the tools required to maintain productivity.

Safety & Quality

• Ensuring the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
• Ensuring assigned construction operations and subcontractor performance comply with specifications, schedules, and budgets.

Technical

• Working with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals to interpret engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documentation.
• Overseeing engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant work experience about high voltage job in special lines 22.9 kV or about.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Laying of lines either in posts or structures such as metal towers, laying of bare conductors, post dresses and/or structures of 22.9 kV lines.
• Easily recognize state of the art.
• Anticipate obstacles and proactivity to face technical and material challenges.
• Knowledge of equipment associated with lifting maneuvers and safety mitigations.
• Complete knowledge in support infrastructure for motorcycles.
• Experience in finishing jobs with pending such as punch list point closure.
• Protocols and delivery of Green Tag Subsystems.
• Energization programs.
• Recognized works in Tie-ins.
