In your role as the Manager - Residential Aged Care (RAC) you will partner with the General Manager, RAC Business Operations and the Director – Ageing Well. You will be responsible for leading their team for success in the assigned homes in Sinnamon Village. As the Manager you will provide direction and leadership at the facility to achieve the Charter, vision, mission, strategic plan, annual goals and objectives of Wesley Mission Queensland. In the role of Manager, you will ensure all aspects of governance, compliance is met, and the operational issues are aligned to the policies of WMQ and the Aged Care Standards.
Key Role Accountabilities
- To actively promote and support the delivery of superior high‑quality care via resident relationship centered model of care based on the Eden Philosophy and the Aged Care Standards.
- Effective use of financial and material resources results in the RAC home being financially sustainable and achieving WMQ financial goals.
- In conjunction with the General Manager and Director of Ageing Well, set overall margin, growth and financial performance objectives for the RAC home based on budget.
- Be informed and understand market conditions/industry trends and their effects and impact on the financial strength of the organisation.
- Demonstrates transformational, inspired and visionary leadership that understands empowerment and support of staff to meet the holistic needs of the residents and collaborates with their support network.
- To foster positive communication, relationships and shared decision making with all stakeholders while working alongside all other corporate office staff to ensure that key priorities are met.
- Creates an environment that supports the journey of learning and development for self and staff.
- Provides team members with opportunities to bring forth their ideas for change management and bright ideas for improvement.
- Ensure the service achieves outcome standards and service delivery practice are in accordance with all legislative compliance frameworks. This includes Aged Care and WMQ standards, NMQIP, Government regulations, funding bodies, other relevant stakeholder requirements including resident privacy and confidentiality.
- Actively contribute to continuous quality improvement activities designed to improve the quality of care and services by sharing your ideas; ensure a high standard of practice and service delivery that meet audit and accreditation standards, processes and requirements and aligned to Wesley Charter.
About You
- Proven experience in managing budget and asset management with a focus on efficiency and cost‑saving strategies.
- Understanding about compliance and governance issues pertaining to leading an aged care home, its accreditation and legislation procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership experience preferably within a similar environment.
- Proven ability to consult, positively communicate and negotiate at a high level.
- Proven experience in developing, formulating and execution of organisational strategies.
- Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking expertise and critical decision‑making skills.
- Strong knowledge of the legal requirements and governance/compliance processes within the aged care industry.
- Knowledge of current trends, developments and challenges facing the Aged Care industry.
- Ability to work in line with Eden Philosophy and the Eden Domains of well‑being.
