Job summary

ABB is seeking a LATAM Business Development professional focused on Autonomous Operations in mining. You will engage across Brazil, Peru, and Chile, shaping automation, digital, and AI-enabled solutions for C-level stakeholders.

Role requires deep mining domain knowledge, regional travel (≥50%), and collaboration with ABB's Process Industries team to drive the product roadmap and market adoption.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of mineral processing operations, especially concentrator plants.
• Proven experience applying automation and digital solutions to industrial settings.
• Strong ability to engage and influence C-level stakeholders in consultative discussions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary interface with mining customers across LATAM, understanding challenges and translating them into Autonomous Operations solutions.
• Lead consultative engagements with key accounts, designing tailored automation, digital, and AI-enabled offerings.
• Develop and articulate the solution architecture for Autonomous Operations aligning customer needs with ABB portfolio.
• Collaborate with R&D and internal teams to drive solution development and align with market demand and product roadmap.
• Create and materialize business opportunities by identifying pain points and building compelling value propositions from concept to design.
• Navigate executive-level conversations, positioning ABB as a strategic partner in autonomous mining journeys.
• Support go-to-market strategy for Autonomous Operations in mining, especially concentrator plants.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary interface with mining customers across Latin America, understanding their operational challenges and translating them into Autonomous Operations solutions.
• Lead consultative engagements with key accounts, listening, analyzing, and designing tailored solutions that combine automation, digital, and AI capabilities.
• Develop and articulate the solution architecture for Autonomous Operations, bridging customer needs with ABB's technology portfolio.
• Collaborate closely with R&D and internal teams to drive solution development and ensure alignment between market demand and product roadmap.
• Create and materialize business opportunities by identifying customer pain points and building compelling value propositions, from concept to solution design.
• Navigate executive-level conversations (C-Level), positioning ABB as a strategic partner in the journey toward autonomous mining operations.
• Support the go-to-market strategy for Autonomous Operations in the mining segment, with a focus on concentrator plants.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in the mining industry, with solid knowledge of mineral processing operations (especially concentrator plants).
• Proven experience in automation and/or digital solutions applied to industrial environments ability to connect both worlds.
• Strong executive-level communication skills ability to engage, influence, and build trust with C-level stakeholders.
• Analytical and consultative mindset ability to listen, synthesize complex information, and translate it into structured solution designs.
• Fluent/Advanced proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
• Availability for frequent travel (minimum 50% of the time) across Brazil, Peru, Chile, and the broader LATAM region.

Nice to Have / Differentiators

• Experience with AI/ML-based solutions or predictive analytics applied to industrial operations.
• Familiarity with ABB's automation portfolio (e.g., ABB Ability™ System 800xA, MineOptimize).
• Previous experience in business development, pre-sales, or solution consulting in the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Background in remote operations centers or integrated operations environments.
