Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Civil Engineer to join our Latin America and international project teams in mining, geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil infrastructure work. The role requires 5+ years of geotechnical experience and coordination of multidisciplinary projects, including field investigations and design support.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis.
• Professional CIP registration or pursuing registration in Peru is required/advantageous.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant geotechnical and mining infrastructure experience.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and coordinate geotechnical site investigations and laboratory testing.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports for mining infrastructure projects.
• Monitor instrumentation and interpret field data for design decisions.
• Conduct analyses such as slope stability, seepage, settlement, and site response.
• Design mining infrastructure components (TSFs, heap leach pads, access roads, drainage).
• Lead field teams and support governance processes with senior staff and clients.
• Integrate ES&G and risk management into engineering solutions.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Geotechnical Civil Engineer to join our Engineering Team and contribute to a diverse portfolio of mining, geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil infrastructure projects across Latin America and internationally.

This position is intended for a professional with 5+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and mining infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will independently perform engineering analyses and design tasks, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and support project delivery throughout multiple project stages, including studies, design, construction support, operation, and closure.

The Intermediate Geotechnical Civil Engineer will work closely with Senior Engineers, Project Managers, technical specialists, and clients to develop practical, technically sound, and risk-informed solutions for mining and civil infrastructure projects.

This Role Will Give You the Opportunity To

• Plan and coordinate geotechnical site investigation programs, including field activities and laboratory testing.
• Prepare and review geotechnical characterization, analysis, and design reports for mining infrastructure projects.
• Perform geotechnical monitoring assessments and interpret instrumentation and field performance data.
• Conduct geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, seepage, settlement, and site response evaluations.
• Design and evaluate mining infrastructure such as Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs), Heap Leach Pads, Waste Rock Facilities, access roads, and drainage systems.
• Support Senior Engineers, Engineers of Record (EoRs), and Independent Technical Review Boards (ITRBs) during project development, review, and governance processes.
• Lead field teams during geotechnical investigations and construction quality assurance activities.
• Integrate environmental, social, closure, and risk management considerations into engineering solutions.

We Are Looking for Someone Who Has

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Perú Engineering Registration (CIP)
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and mining infrastructure projects.
• Experience in geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Experience with geotechnical monitoring and instrumentation programs.
• Experience supporting EoR and/or ITRB activities is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with geotechnical analysis tools and industry-standard engineering software.
• Intermediate English communication skills; Portuguese is considered an asset.
