Job summary

Global Rail Group is seeking an Engineering Consultant to describe rail infrastructure conditions and advise on maintenance strategies for international customers. You will work with management to develop new project ideas and support the company’s growth in a fast-growing, global team.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree, have strong English and German skills, and are willing to travel or relocate within railway sites. A background in data science or IPMA Level D is a bonus.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering (e.g. Civil or Mechanical).
• Experience in project management is a bonus (IPMA Level D).
• Data science experience is a bonus (e.g. Python).
• Railway environment experience is a bonus (consulting, contractor, or manager).
• Fluency in English and German is essential.

Responsibilities

• Describe the condition of rail infrastructure using railway know-how.
• Advise and support international customers in maintenance strategy planning and life-cycle considerations.
• Coordinate projects with your manager and develop new project ideas through all phases.
• Contribute to the development and positioning of Global Rail Group.

Your role as Engineering Consultant

• You work on solutions to describe the condition of the rail infrastructure with your railway know-how
• You advise and support our international customers in the planning and implementation of new maintenance strategies with a focus on life cycle considerations and sustainable asset management
• You coordinate with your manager projects and jointly develop new project ideas and accompany them during its project phases
• You take on personal responsibility and contribute to the development and positioning of a young and innovative consulting company

Your profile

• University degree or Fachhochschulabschluss in the engineering disciplines (e.g. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar)
• Experience in project management skills is a bonus (e.g. IPMA Level D)
• Experience in data science is a bonus (skills in Phyton, etc.)
• Experience in the railway environment (technical consulting, railway superstructure maintenance company (contractor), civil engineering company, infrastructure manager) is a bonus
• You are fluent in spoken and written English and German
• Openness to travel (and to move within railway track onsite)
