NTT America, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and maintain high-volume mainframe logic and enable seamless cloud/mobile interaction with core data. You will modernize legacy systems while ensuring robust performance and reliability across platforms.

The role requires deep expertise in Java, Spring, and modern microservices, with a focus on refactoring and exposing legacy functionality through cloud-ready services. A hybrid remote setup in Lima, Peru is offered.

Formación

• Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
• Strong coding skills in Java, Springboot, Quarkus, GraphQL, Kafka, SpringBatch, Apache Flink with debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with scalable, robust software development and modern engineering practices.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST-based services.
• Knowledge of microservices, containers, and messaging queues.

The Role

Your role

Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world's MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You'll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. Experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely.

In this role, you'll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you'll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe's core data.

What You Will Do

• Prevent decay and find efficiencies: Monitor the architecture and identify opportunities to optimize code to maintain and enhance mainframe performance.
• Find and fix: Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to keep mission-critical applications running.
• Bridge the gap: As an instrumental player in modernization, you'll extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.

Who You Are

Required skills and experience

• Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
• Excellent coding skills and solid development experience (Java, Springboot, Quarkus, GraphQL, Kafka, SpringBatch, ApacheFlink) with debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Software development methodologies, with demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust software.
• Experienced in relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST-based web services.
• Knowledge of architecture design - Microservices architecture, containers (Docker & AKS), messaging queues.
• Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns.
• Azure Components

Preferred skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Certification in one or more of the hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, and Google GCP) - otherwise, you can obtain certifications with Kyndryl.
• Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
