Job summary

Softgic in Lima, Peru, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with 5+ years of professional experience to build cloud-native applications. You will own backend in Python (FastAPI preferred) and frontend in React with TypeScript, designing solutions from concept to production.

You will design PostgreSQL schemas, work with AWS services like ECS Fargate and Aurora PostgreSQL, use IaC tools (AWS CDK or Terraform), and collaborate with Product and Data teams while embracing AI-assisted

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production applications.
• Strong experience with Python; FastAPI is highly preferred.
• Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Knowledge of ECS Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Solid PostgreSQL experience, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience with React and TypeScript.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM-based development tools and openness to AI-first development workflows.
• Experience or ability to thrive in startup/scale-up environments with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
• Strong ownership, system/workflow thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Backend services using Python, preferably FastAPI.
• Develop Frontend features using React and TypeScript.
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to optimization and production.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and performance.
• Build and operate cloud-native solutions on AWS, including ECS Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Data teams and participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Continuously improve code quality, system reliability, maintainability, and developer experience.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar, leveraging LLMs for coding, debugging, refactoring, and technical exploration.
