Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Muscat is seeking a Server to join its prestigious Food and Beverage team. The role involves delivering exceptional service in a luxury environment, maintaining standards, and supporting VIP guests.

Fluency in English is essential, with additional Arabic skills a plus, and comfort using the restaurant's POS system. As a Server, you will uphold brand standards, present dishes with care, and collaborate with a dynamic team to ensure memorable guest experiences in a prime Muscat

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Server in a luxury property is preferred.
• Proficiency in English is essential; additional or Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Ability to operate the software system to process orders efficiently.
• Strong understanding of the outlet's concept and food and beverage offerings to effectively communicate with guests.

Responsibilities

• Ensure uniform and personal hygiene standards are maintained and present a professional image for guests.
• Maintain mise en place and service efficiency throughout shifts.
• Know the menu and wine list to respond accurately to guest requests.
• Greet guests and establish rapport to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Keep the restaurant clean and orderly at all times.
• Prepare VIP amenities in line with Legendary Quality Standards.
• Perform service steps to achieve guest satisfaction and meet standards.
• Present dishes in line with hotel standards and F&B specifications.
• Deliver service in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner.
• Upsell services and products to increase revenue.
• Handle billing according to hotel policies.
• Report guest comments to management for prompt action.

About the job

Server reports to the Food and Beverage Supervisor.

As Server, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• To ensure that the uniform provided is kept clean, presentable and in good condition, ensuring that personal appearance and hygiene standards are an example for the team and a demonstrate a professional image for our guests
• To ensure that mise en place is completed shift to shift and during service in order to provide an efficient service.
• To ensure a full knowledge of the menu and wine list in order to respond or amend guests requests to their full satisfaction.
• To greets guests and establish rapport in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
• To ensure that the restaurant is kept clean and in appropriate order at all times.
• To assist and prepare all VIP amenities in order to deliver them in compliance with our Legendary Quality Standards
• To ensure that all service steps are performed in order to reach guest satisfaction and to comply with our Legendary Quality Standards
• To ensure all dishes are presented in compliance with hotel standards and food & beverage specifications.
• To deliver service according to hotel standards and guest requirements in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner
• To up-sell services and products to our guests always, enhancing service and generating increased revenue.
• To perform any tasks relating to billing according to hotel service standards and cashiering policies
• To report any guest comments or complaints to the manager on duty in In Room Dining allowing prompt corrective action
• To perform clearing of tables and trays in the wash service area ensuring efficient rotation of silver, china and glassware and keeping breakage to a minimum
• To perform duties relating to counting linen on a rota basis
• To cooperate with colleagues and provide practical support.
• To perform additional duties as related to the position or as prescribed by management.
