Job summary

A leading cable manufacturer in Oman is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician. Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setup and an ITI or equivalent in Mechanical. Responsibilities include ensuring planned maintenance, understanding mechanical instruction manuals, and performing repairs safely. A commitment to safety and teamwork is essential.

• 5+ years in a similar manufacturing setup.

Responsibilities

• Complete and maintain all necessary documentation.
• Read and understand mechanical instruction manuals and drawings.
• Use various mechanical test equipment.
• Perform planned and predictive maintenance.
• Carry out repairs efficiently and safely.
• Identify safety observations.

Job description

Key Deliverables

Quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

• Complete and maintain all necessary documentation, computerized if necessary.
• Should be able to read and understand mechanical instruction manuals, mechanical drawings/schematics and job instructions.
• Must be able to use various mechanical test equipment.
• Sound knowledge and application of workplace health and safety regulations.
• Perform planned and predictive maintenance thereby improving the uptime of the equipment (after receiving appropriate training)
• Carry out the repairs at shortest possible time efficiently and safely.
• Ensure the work is carry out as per standard practices following by safety norms of OAPIL.
• Identify Safety observation and register in management system.
• Any other job assigned by OAPIL management in line with product or process to follow.

Relationships (Internal)

• Production, QC, HR, HSE.

Relationships (External)

AMC contractor and external vendor.

Qualifications

• ITI or equivalent (Mechanical).
