Transrail Lighting Limited is looking for Surveyor

Job Description / Responsibility

We are seeking a highly accurate and detail-oriented Surveyor to measure, map, and document land features, property boundaries, and construction sites. The Surveyor will be responsible for collecting precise spatial data using advanced instruments and converting this data into reliable maps, reports, and legal documents essential for planning, design, and construction projects, ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

1) Field Data Collection
  • Conduct comprehensive boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title, and construction surveys using total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, leveling instruments, and 3D laser scanners.
  • Collect precise measurements of distance, angles, elevations, and coordinates to establish control points and map natural and man-made features.
  • Perform construction staking and layout services to guide the placement of foundations, utilities, roads, and structures according to engineering plans.
2) Research and Analysis
  • Research and analyze legal documents, historical maps, deeds, titles, and previous survey records to determine property boundaries and land rights.
  • Resolve discrepancies between field data, historical records, and legal descriptions.
  • Prepare and certify legal descriptions, plats, and boundary surveys for property transfers and legal documentation.
3) Mapping and Reporting
  • Process and analyze raw survey data using specialized surveying software and CAD/GIS platforms (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).
  • Create detailed survey maps, digital terrain models (DTMs), plats, and reports that accurately depict land features, boundaries, and survey findings.
  • Present survey findings and recommendations to project managers, engineers, architects, clients, and government agencies.
4) Compliance and Equipment
  • Ensure all surveys and documentation comply with local, state, and federal regulations, standards (e.g., state-specific surveying laws), and project specifications.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot surveying instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and procedures while conducting fieldwork.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg)
  • Diploma in Engineering
  • Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field (3+ years of professional experience in land surveying, boundary surveying, or construction surveying).

  • Proficiency in operating modern surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS/GNSS systems, Data Collectors). Demonstrated experience with CAD and surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical principles (geometry, trigonometry) as they apply to surveying.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare legal descriptions, engineering plans, and architectural drawings.
  • Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel frequently to job sites.
