Job summary

A global engineering group is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for a long-term project in Sohar, Oman. The role involves supervising all civil construction activities, ensuring compliance with design standards, and preparing progress reports. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, along with 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, including familiarity with GCC standards. Strong communication skills in English are essential, and availability for short-notice mobilization is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in civil works supervision on industrial, power or energy projects.
• Previous GCC / Oman experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of site QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all civil construction activities on site.
• Monitor contractor’s daily works for compliance with design and specifications.
• Review civil method statements and follow up on inspections and tests.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all civil construction activities on site (foundations, equipment bases, buildings, cable trenches, access roads, drainage, fencing, etc.).
• Monitor contractor’s daily works to ensure compliance with design, specifications, quality and HSE requirements.
• Review and comment on civil method statements, ITPs and shop drawings, and follow up on inspections and tests.
• Record progress, non-conformities and site issues; prepare daily/weekly reports for the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with electrical/I&C teams, HSE and the EPC contractor to solve field clashes and maintain schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in civil works supervision on industrial, power or energy projects (PV/renewable experience preferred).
• Previous GCC / Oman experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of international construction standards and site QA/QC practices.
• Good communication and reporting skills in English.
• Available to mobilize to Sohar at short notice.

Additional Information

• Full-time presence on site in Sohar for 5 months, with possible extension
