Job Description

Senior PT position in either Field Development Center or Asset unit mainly in WRFM. The incumbent senior PT has to have a specialist/aSME/SME in one or more of the below PT areas: Perforation/Stimulation, Hydraulic Frac, Thermal, Sand Management and/or extensive experience in Field development (Studies, Front-End), and provide assistance to PDO development projects as required.

Purpose of the Job

Senior PT in Field Development Center: The position will be part of a dynamic and talented team working on maturing field development plans. The team is responsible for maturing front‑end development work for primary and secondary recovery in green and brown field projects. The Senior Production Technologist leads the Assess & Select phase well conceptual design to deliver capital‑ and carbon‑efficient integrated development inline with PDO’s hydrocarbon maturation strategic goals. The role also involves close collaboration with the receiving asset to address the Operate phase risks and opportunities and to enable successful WRFM value delivery. The incumbent must be able to work independently on discipline‑specific deliverables while integrating with other surface and subsurface team members to develop coherent, optimized and robust long‑term development concepts. The job also includes coaching and mentoring junior Omani staff.

Senior PT in WRFM Asset Team

Senior PT takes the leading role in driving superior WRFM towards Top Quartile Performance, ensuring a WRFM strategy and plan is updated annually and aligned to corporate business strategies. The role includes ensuring NFA (Production and injection against forecast), Well Integrity management according to the well failure model and Management of WRFM Threats and Opportunities (MTO) process.

Education & Experience
  • University degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent technical subject
  • Technically strong in own PE field with good all‑around knowledge of other PE disciplines with typically a minimum of 10 years of experience of which a minimum of 5 is related to one PT specialised PT area (Perforation/Stimulation, Hydraulic Frac, Thermal, Sand Management and Field development (Studies, Front‑End).
  • Strong coaching experience
  • Strong leadership skills, effectively leading multidisciplinary teams and a strong team player
  • Effective communicator, experienced & effective coach/mentor, strategic thinker & change agent
  • To be identified as specialist/ASME/SME in one or more of the below PT areas.
Main Responsibilities
  • Lead implementation and operationalisation of the WRFM process in the asset, managing process workflows in the asset, in accordance with PDO Corporate objectives, guidelines, and required behaviours, and consistent with HSE principles.
  • Ensure asset WRFM plan has a credible path to Top Quartile WRFM Performance, including budget and resources plan.
  • Execute WRFM scope related to Well integrity management, Production and Injection management (Restoration & Optimisation plan), Management of WRFM Threats and Opportunities (MTO), Deferment management, Closed‑in‑wells Management, Surveillance and Data Acquisition, WRFM Energy Efficiency and management plan, New technology implementation plan.
  • Implement WRFM work processes within the asset to deliver the business result.
  • Monitor WRFM process performance and process tool use across the asset.
  • Interface and assist WRFM Team Leader to manage relevant and interfacing processes.
  • Support WRFM process health‑checks inline with function plan.
  • Support WRFM short term production and injection forecasts, Well integrity and well metering management.
  • Daily production operations support (deferment management…etc).
  • Intervention programmes to maintain well potential and integrity as per design.
  • Quality assured well and reservoir data in corporate database.
  • Delivery of agreed NFA (Production and injection delivery against forecast).
  • Activity delivery against surveillance budget and well services budget.
  • Delivery against Production System Optimisation target.
  • Cluster Surveillance, Well Testing, On‑Line Well Data, Integrity, and Production System Optimisation Plans.
  • Ensure systematic application of MOC.
  • Staff supervision, development, and coaching.
  • Support planning and leading Level 3 Annual Assurance Plan (AAP), Create Gap Closure plan & work on closing the identified actions timely. Report the CA KPIs to the asset leadership team, and function team.
  • Support Level 2 AAP & closing identified Gaps in their assets.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend well interventions to optimise injection placement and withdrawals.
  • Carry out detailed design of Artificial Lift systems, and optimise their performance.
  • Liaise with Artificial Lift technical specialists to identify or suggest AL system improvements.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis exercises.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend remedial well work to improve inflow performance through stimulation, additional and/or improved perforations.
  • Able, to a certain degree, to evaluate and recommend sand Control & sand management strategy.
  • Identify and run necessary cased hole logs to ensure well integrity meets minimum standards.
