Job summary

A global professional services organization is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer in Muscat, Oman. The successful candidate will advise project managers on planning and scheduling, create progress reports, and provide support to the claims team. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10-15 years of airport experience are required, alongside strong multitasking and communication skills.

Job description

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Planning Engineer in Oman who will be responsible for:

Key Duties:

• Function as a main advisory to the Project Managers / Director in all issues concerning planning, scheduling, and resources needed. Deals with progress management – delays, corrective actions, and claims.
• Identify the content of the weekly / monthly progress report in accordance to the client’s requirements.
• Provide support to the claims team if any.
• Create the information collection system and tools to assure the correctness of information and eliminate confusion and incorrect figures.
• Provide information and decide on all issues concerning the issuance of the base line schedule such as project structure, activity codes, logical sequence, linking, and level of detail.
• Able to control liquidity damages and suggest suitable measures.
• Identify the different critical paths of the project and any changes affecting them during progress updating and enabling a clear visibility to the areas of concern and delays.
• Analyse progress and time delays using a correct and precise progress measurement system and provide corrective actions like re – sequencing through which milestones dates will be met.

Skill Set Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• Airport experience is a must.
• 10-15 years post graduate Estimating experience.
• Able to manage assignments from conception through to conclusion.
• Strong team player.
• Able to multitask and manage priorities.
• Able to summarise detailed work into concise executive level briefs.
