Job summary

Goodman Masson Oman is partnering with a new financial markets infrastructure venture in Oman to build a greenfield post-trade platform. We seek an Application Support Specialist with strong Linux expertise to own both build-phase support and ongoing production support after go-live.

You will provide 2nd/3rd line support, monitor production processes, manage incidents and interfaces (SWIFT, ISO 15022/20022), and help design the run-phase support model, collaborating with technology, operations

Qualifications

• 6–10 years in application or production support, preferably in banking or capital markets.
• Strong Linux/Unix experience with Linux certification preferred.
• Degree in CS/IT or related discipline.
• Experience supporting critical production apps in financial services.
• Understanding of post-trade lifecycle: settlement, clearing, reconciliations.
• Experience with SWIFT messaging environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL-aligned incident and change management.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line application support across settlement, registry, and actions.
• Monitor production processes; identify and resolve exceptions.
• Own incident, problem and root-cause management; lead major incidents.
• Support messaging interfaces including SWIFT, ISO 15022, ISO 20022.
• Investigate and resolve application, messaging, and interface failures.
• Manage batch processing and enterprise scheduling to meet settlement deadlines.
• Develop runbooks, monitoring procedures and escalation processes.
• Help design run-phase application support model.
• Collaborate with technology, operations, vendors and stakeholders.
• Contribute to recruitment and development of the future team.
