Job summary

gu-recruitment is seeking an Instrument Engineer for a refinery maintenance role in Oman. The candidate will specify, design, install, calibrate and maintain instrumentation systems used to measure and control industrial processes.

Responsibilities include reading P&ID and drawings, calibrating transmitters and control valves, performing loop checks and troubleshooting, and ensuring safety practices. This role requires 10+ years in refinery maintenance and fluency in English.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics engineering or related field.
10+ years' refinery maintenance experience.
Excellent command of oral and written English.
Strong understanding of measurement and control principles.
Knowledge of automation and process control systems.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.

Responsibilities

Spec, design, install, calibrate and maintain instrumentation systems for industrial processes.
Read P&ID, hook-up and single-line drawings.
Calibrate transmitters, switches, control valves and gauges on-site and in workshop.
Perform loop checking and troubleshooting; report issues to supervisors.
Follow safety rules and guidelines; maintain housekeeping after jobs.
Prepare spare part lists and request materials as needed.
Support other sections with control system equipment and asset management.
Be ready for emergency and shutdown work at any time.
