Job summary

Raaz Design in Muscat, Oman is seeking a Senior Carpenter to lead turnkey woodwork projects from workshop to site. You will interpret drawings, fabricate high-quality cabinetry and architectural woodwork, and supervise a small team on the shop floor.

The role involves CNC and machine operation, material selection, QA at every stage, and coordinating with design and project teams to ensure buildability and timely installation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in turnkey woodwork and finish carpentry in a workshop
• Ability to read complex architectural and shop drawings
• Strong supervisory and workshop coordination experience
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage

Senior Carpenter

Company: Raaz Design — a leading turnkey fitout company

Location: Muscat, Oman

Reports to: Workshop Manager / Production Manager

Employment type: Full-time, workshop-based

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural and shop drawings to plan fabrication sequences and material requirements
• Fabricate and assemble custom cabinetry, joinery items, veneered panels, mouldings and architectural woodwork to a high finish standard
• Operate and oversee use of CNC and standard workshop machinery (saws, routers, edge banders, etc.)
• Select and work with hardwoods, veneers, laminates and hardware appropriate to each piece
• Check dimensional accuracy, grain matching and finish quality at every stage
• Supervise and mentor junior carpenters, allocate tasks and coordinate workshop workflow
• Coordinate with design and project teams on buildability, detailing queries and material substitutions
• Plan and oversee site installation of finished woodwork, including final fit and adjustment
• Maintain machinery, tools and workshop safety standards
• Manage snagging and rectification of woodwork items post-installation

Qualifications and Experience

• Senior Carpenter / Woodworker with advanced technical training
• Minimum 5 years of extensive turnkey woodwork and finish carpentry experience in a workshop setting
• Expert proficiency in reading and interpreting complex architectural drawings and shop drawings
• Strong supervisory skills and workshop coordination experience
• Advanced material knowledge — hardwoods, veneers, laminates, hardware
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a strong plus
